• What is Trakkboard?

  Trakkboard is an application for your desktop. Trakkboard enables you to look at data from different Google Analytics accounts and profiles on your desktop and to compare them with each other without being logged in at Google Analytics.

• How can I use Trakkboard?

  To use Trakkboard you simply have to register with your email address. Visit www.trakkboard.com and enter your email address. Please confirm the received email by clicking the enclosed link. The key will be shown to you on the website and you can download the application.

• Who provides Trakkboard?

  Trakkboard is provided by Trakken Web Services GmbH, a consultancy focusing on web analysis and conversion optimization. Trakken was founded in the beginning of the year 2008 by former Google employees Timo Aden and Lennart Paulsen. The customer experiences best support running from the selection and implementation of a new tool for web analysis to the conception and realisation of optimisation tests. Besides the selection and customised adjustments of web analysis tools like Google Analytics, Trakken offers the definition and evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as derivations of recommendations for action. Trakken’s objective is to create a comprehensive analysis culture for several companies and to identify potentials for improvement of the website. The analyses give you important information for the continuous optimization of the website and of marketing measures. Besides the creation of scenario tests, Trakken offers the graphic implementation including the programming of landing pages. Conversion optimization by using A/B- or multivariate tests helps your company to secure a comparative advantage in the long term and therefore secures also the company’s success. Trakken is an authorized Google Analytics partner (Google Analytics Authorized Consultant).

• How does Trakkboard work?

  Trakkboard uses the Google Analytics API to load data from Google Analytics and to display this data in the application. As soon as the user makes a query over Trakkboard, the requested data is transmitted from the Google Analytics Backend and displayed.

• Does the use of Trakkboard cost anything?

  No, Trakkboard is free of cost.

• What is a license key?

  The license key is a 40-digit combination of numbers and letters which is assigned uniquely. By requesting the license key, the user accepts the general terms and conditions. Moreover, the license key authorizes the user to use Trakkboard.

• How can I get a license key?

  You can easily request the license key per email. To do so, please visit www.trakkboard.com and insert your email address into the according field. Please confirm the received email by clicking the enclosed link. The key is shown to you on the website and you can download the application.

• Which data is saved?

  All Google Analytics Data is transfered directly to your PC over a secure connection from google.com and is available while you are using Trakkboard. When you close Trakkboard this data is deleted from your PCs virtual memory.

  Trakkboard saves your Google Analytics Profile IDs on your PC, this data is encrypted by the password you entered when you installed Trakkboard

• Can Trakkboard change my data?

  No, Trakkboard only retrieves the data which is available in your Google Analytics account. It is not possible to change any settings in Google Analytics through Trakkboard.

• What is a Google Analytics account?

  If you once have verified your email address at Google, you can use Google Analytics or other applications. With your verified email address and your password you can access to your Google Analytics account.

• What is a widget?

  A widget is a small application. Trakkboard’s widgets are small windows which show chosen data from Google Analytics.

• What is a dashboard?

  A dashboard is a compilation of various data. Trakkboard’s dashboard comprises a user-defined number of widgets. By means of more tabs you can create any number of dashboards and provide them with additional data.

• Why is it necessary to click the link in the email in order to confirm your registration?

  By clicking the link in the email you confirm that you want to use the application and that you accept the GTC. This form of subscribing is much less laboriously than subscribing by paper documents. HERE you can find our GTC. Which personal data is required for subscription to and use of Trakkboard? After you have installed your license key, please click on the download field and an installation window will open. You can either save the application and open later manually or you can immediately open and start the registration process. The registration process occurs in three steps:

  • Step 1: Insert the license key in the predetermined field.
  • Step 2: Please choose a password. With this password you can start the Trakkboard application. You are the only person who knows the password. If you forget it, there will not be a possibility to start the application. You will have to erase and reload the application then.
  • Step 3: The third step requires your access data for your Google Analytics account. Please insert your email address which you use for your Google Analytics account in the first field. In the second field, please enter the appropriate password. Therewith, the registration process is completed and Trakkboard is started.

• How can I get updates for Trakkboard?

  You automatically receive updates when you open the Trakkboard application.

• Which advantages does Trakkboard offer me?

• Can I use Trakkboard without a Google Analytics account?

  Trakkboard is designed to show data from Google Analytics on the desktop. Without having a Google Analytics account you cannot register for Trakkboard.

• Can Trakkboard be linked up with other analysis tools providers?

  At the moment, it is only possible to show data from Google Analytics. In future versions there will be interfaces to other tool providers. It is also possible to create individual solutions. Please do not hesitate to contact us: trakkboard@trakken.de

• What happens if I lose my password for this application?

  The password is only known by you. If you lose it, there is no possibility for you to start the application. You have to delete and restart the application with a new setup.

• What can I do if I change my Google Analytics password?

  You can change the passwords for your Google Analytics accounts in the control center.

• How can I add a second Google Analytics account?

  You can add a second Google Analytics account in the control center.

• How can I add a widget?

  You can add another widget by clicking the button “Add a new Widget” in the top bar.

• Can I put a widget with identical settings twice on the dashboard?

  Yes, you can put as many dashboards with identical settings on your dashboard as you need.

• Can I rearrange widgets or delete them from the dashboard?

  You can arrange your dashboard completely individually and flexibly. Widgets can be rearranged on the dashboard or they can be moved into other tabs. If you do not need a widget anymore, you can delete it from the dashboard.

• How can I delete the connection with Trakkboard?

  If you do not want to use Trakkboard anymore, you can simply uninstall the software.
